Day 3, Sunday 5th
F and I took Louis to his football game, playing for the Under-13s of Baldock Youth FC. He's a very skilful player, fast and agile (sadly a great loss to the game of rugby, but he has decided it's the round ball for him), and Baldock won 9-2, with a couple of good assists for L. Needed some recovery time in the afternoon, then all off to The Hermitage in Hitchin for Frankie’s early birthday dinner. Very enjoyable meal in a huge venue which used to be a dance hall, where past acts have included all sorts from Clapton to Kenny Ball. Back home, Dean spent a while setting up the GoPro for my onward travels, and he and I shared a few nightcaps from the bottle of Writers' Tears Irish whiskey he'd specially bought for my trip. So it was yet another 3am night, to finish off another memorable Gonsalves weekend.
